This is the current A1 English language requirement.

A1 Speaking and listening GESE  Grade 2

Further Leave to Remain (visa extension):

  • Family life as a parent (Parent of a dependant)

Note: from 1 May 2017, an A2 English language SELT is required for family route Leave to Remain applications after two-and-a-half years in the UK.

The CEFR levels shown above reflect the minimum requirements for applications. UKVI English language requirements can also be satisfied by a Secure English Language Test taken at a higher CEFR level.
