Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading

Qualification objectives

The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Team Leading is for learners who work in, or who want to work in the business and professional management sector.

It gives learners the opportunity to:

  • develop and demonstrate competence as a Team Leader, Section Leader, Floor Leader, Trainee Supervisor, Call Centre Team Manager or Supervisor
  • develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge to develop the core competencies of the roles above, including team leadership styles, team dynamics, problem solving, providing support, managing the work of teams and communication techniques
  • develop personal growth and engagement in learning through the development of personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS)
  • have existing skills recognised
  • achieve a nationally-recognised Level 2 qualification

Progression opportunities

Learners who achieve the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Diploma can progress to Pearson BTEC Level 3 Award in Principles of Management, Pearson BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Management or the Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Management, which is the competencies component of the Advanced Apprenticeship in Management. Learners may also progress into roles such as Section Manager, Senior Supervisor or Assistant Manager

 

Advanced Apprenticeship in Management

Qualification objectives

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Management is for learners who work in, or who want to work in management roles such as Section Manager, First Line Manager, Assistant Manager, Trainee Manager, Senior Supervisor and Junior NonCommissioned Officer.

It gives learners the opportunity to:

  • develop and demonstrate technical and wider sector-related knowledge to underpin competence in the job roles stated above. This includes principles of equality, diversity and inclusion, the principles of leadership and management and the principles of people management.
  • develop and demonstrate a range of technical skills and behaviours that support competence in the job roles stated above. This includes managing personal and professional development, supporting equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and managing team and individual’s performance.
  • have existing skills recognised
  • achieve a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification
  • develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning through the development of personal, learning and thinking skills (PLTS).

Progression opportunities

Learners who achieve the Advanced Apprenticeship in Management can progress to the Higher Apprenticeship in Management, which consists of the following qualifications: Pearson Edexcel Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Management and Pearson BTEC Level 4 Diploma in Management and Leadership. With further development, learners can also progress into job roles requiring a more complex set of skills, such as Manager, Head of Function, and Area Manager.
