Trinity SELT A1/A2/B1 Courses
Global Skills are a Listed Trinity SELT course provider, providing English SELT preparation courses for tests for various Visas, Citizenship and Leave to Remain purposes as required by the UK Home Office.
Course Duration 2 week course, 3 x 3 hour lessons per week, 18 hours in total
GESE Course Price A1/A2/B1 £120 + £150
A1 SELT – GESE Grade 2
You must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level A1 in Speaking and Listening for:
- Further Leave to Remain
- a Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa
Trinity’s GESE Grade 2 exam = CEFR A1.
GESE Grade 2
- 6 minute speaking and listening test
- Provisional results on the same day
- Certificate usually within 7 days
- Speaking & Listening only
A2 SELT – GESE Grade 3
You must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level A2 in Speaking and Listening for:
- a Further Leave to Remain (visa extension), required two and a half years after passing an A1 test.
Trinity’s GESE Grade 3 exam = CEFR A2.
The Home Office has announced that, as from 1 May 2017, non-EEA nationals will need to pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in speaking and listening at level A2 after two-and-a-half years in the UK in order to qualify for further leave to remain on the five-year partner or parent route to settlement.
GESE Grade 3
- 7 minute speaking and listening test
- Provisional results on the same day
- Certificate usually within 7 days
- Speaking & Listening only
B1 SELT – GESE Grade 5
You must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening for:
- Indefinite Leave to Remain (to settle)or British Citizenship
Trinity’s GESE Grade 5 exam = CEFR B1.
GESE Grade 5
- 10 minute speaking and listening test
- Provisional results on the same day
- Certificate usually within 7 days
- Speaking & Listening only
You also need to take a ‘Life in the UK’ Test as part of your application. This is not a Trinity test. Visit the government Home Office website for more information about the Life In The UK test.
